Letter Perfect Farm

Writers Block

OK,  I have had writers block. I was so excited to have a blog on our website, and then my brain froze up like a diesel engine with regular gas(yeah I did that once, NOT GOOD!) And that got me thinking about things that get stuck, my tractor in the manure pile, my spreader when a link breaks in the chain, my back after shoveling out all the manure in the broken spreader, etc.  if you work on a farm, you know how this goes,  there is an endless amount of things that can get stuck around the farm, including our mindset and bodies when it comes to riding horses.  We don't always realize which part is stuck, our mind or our bodies, but one thing is for sure,  our horses notice right away!  They try to tell us "SOMETHING" is wrong, but most of the time our reaction is to tell them THEY are wrong before we even think about what we as riders could be doing wrong. Sometimes we  get "stuck" trying to master what we have just learned, and really don't realize that our horses are trying to tell us something very important, and that is mostly that we are trying too hard, and sometimes that makes it WAY TOO HARD for our horses.  So the next time you're in the saddle, listen quietly to your horses and  try to feel where you are stuck. Whether it is in your brain, or in your body our horses are amazingly sensitive and willing to help you figure it out!

Now I need to get out of this chair, or my back will be as frozen as the arctic in winter!!
