Feb 2016

Back to normal

2015 was a crazy year in many ways. Our old Indoor Riding ring collapsed due to snow load on February 26th, 2015. We were blessed that no people or horses were injured -- just a whole lot of stuff.

The building was a total loss and fortunately insurance covered most of the costs to repair. The only thing not covered was the expensive footing that goes inside the ring. Letter Perfect Farm has always been known for having first class footing and the new indoor was not going to break that tradition.

We got an amazing builder to come in and put up a new indoor for us. Codes have changed a lot since our original indoor was built and we learned a few things we wanted to do differently too. While we loved our old indoor, the new indoor is even better.

It took quite a while to get the footing quite right. We ended up with a one-of-a-kind mixture of sand and fabric and then covered it with ArenaRX dust control. Kelli, known to be one of the most picky people on the planet about footing, is quite happy with the results.

The inside seems more spacious with the V-trusses and the new mirrors are very helpful for our riders:

We had the new indoor up and running by August 2015 and had our first
horse show on October 24, 2015 which was a great success.

We look forward to seeing everyone again in the 2016 show season!
