Closing Date Near!

Greeting competitors from LPF's show secretary. This is just a reminder that the closing date for our Recognized competition is June 15, only a few days away. We will be busy over the next couple weeks getting ready for the show, but I wanted to let you know about some of the great vendors and prizes that will be here for the show. Right now our prize sponsors are: The Mane Place Tack Shop, Equine Essential Tack Shop, Dover Tack Shop, Smart Pak, Farnum, Platnum Performance Products, Equinature Products, The Saddle Mattress, Black Horse Expressions, The Masons and hopefully many more. Many of the above venders will be present so please take advantage of their kindness in sponsoring our show. We also have a Beautiful Bridle, donated by Smart Pak, to raffle off!! As you may know, our shows are to help Healing Horses which is a program that fosters horses out of rescues and gives them dressage training so that they may have a better chance to get adopted. Our foster horse Greg, scored a 75% in his first dressage show ever!! Please consider becoming a class sponsor for $25.00 to help with our CANTER foster horse- Griffin. Thank you so much for attending our show. We look forward to making your day a complete success!!

The Show Must Go On!

On Saturday, June 2, LPF helds it first dressage schooling show of 2012. Although the rain was relentless, some very brave souls turned up to test not only their dressage skills, but also their floatation devices!! Because of the light turnout, LPF management asked the judge, Karen Roberts(L), for permission to hold the show totally indoors and it was granted! Luckily our indoor was big enough to accomodate, and everyone was happy to be inside. Riders rode tests from USDF-4th level, with the high score of the day being a 75%, earned by Don Gregory at Tr.Level Test 2, ridden by Kelli Mason. Greg, a miracle in the making, is a horse Healing Horses fostered out of a rescue two years ago, that litterally could not walk comfortably. However, with prayer, time and patience and lots of help(Kelli has been blessed and grateful to have)from Dr. Heidi Williams, Dr. Liz Malony, Dr. Bryan Frayley(Equine podiatrist), and her awesome farrier, Tim O'Brian, Greg has finally started his new career in dressage. A good start to say the least. Other Blue Ribbon winners of the day were Victoria Picotte riding Eeyore and winning USDF B & C with scores of 66.25 & 67.5, Kelli Mason riding Mia USDF TOC with a score of 73.5, Kailey Hennesy riding Lord Sterling in Tr. 1 scoring 56.875, Kristen Fosberg, riding Sunny Tr.2 & 3 scoring 68.929 & 60.76, Ann Fiore riding Buster in First Level test 2 with a score of 66.622, Pat Domigan riding Graf Gable(better known as Dylan) in First Level Test 1 scoring 59.483, Barbara Griscom riding Uno in 4th Level Test 1 scoring 60.714, and Sandi Molinari riding He's Pushin Smoke in our first ever gaited dressage classes USDF B & C, scoring a 65.313 and 64.00 respectfully. All in all it was a great day even with the down pouring rain! LPF would like to thank all of their volunteers including, Paula Adelson, The Picotte Family, Theresa Wright, Lydia Mason, Kathy O'Leary, Anne Jastremski, Lauralyn Anderson, Gail Aleander, and the Uxbridge Nazarene Church Teens- Sam & Michaela, all whom make having a show MUCH easier. LPF would also like to thank the Masons and The Mane Place for their generous sponsorship of their shows and all of the competitors who participate in their shows which help to raise funds for Healing Horses and the horses that they foster. LPF is hosting a USEF/USDF rec. show June 30 and July 1,2012. We hope to see you then!
